what I am working on...

Here is a picture of what I am currently working on ...

horse's head
It is a design I drew up.  It has been rattling around in my head for quite awhile and I finally got it out and on to paper a couple weeks ago.  I am trying a few new things with this rug:

1) I am hooking the whole rug in an 8.5 cut.  I have done areas of other rugs in an 8.5 cut but never a whole rug.  I have had to hand cut some strips down to fit into areas but overall I am liking the cut size.  The rug has been hooking up quickly using the larger cut size.

2) I am hooking this design on Dorr unbleached linen.  I have only hooked one other rug on linen - it was small and over 8 years ago.  I normally use monks cloth and wanted to give linen a try as most people seem to prefer linen over monks cloth.  At this point I am not hating it but it IS different than using monks cloth.  I never noticed how much monks cloth stretches on a frame until using this linen!

Well, that is all for today.  I will post pictures of my progress.. now off to figure out what color the background will be.

    1. Hi Jody! Kenny and I are ready for winter to be over! At this point I don't think spring will ever get here. We are using the soap you gave us and are loving it! How is your progress on the chicken rug you got from me?
